I use 4Ext as my recovery and I'm trying to get it working, but I'm not being given the option to allow SuperUser access when I go into the application to install the new recovery. ![]() I installed the SU Binary through Recovery and now my SuperUser is working. I installed ClockWork Mod through Fastboot and now that parts working. I don't have a recovery installed, so I can't flash a new binary through recovery. I tried installing SuperSU and it says there is no Super User Binary installed and it can't install it, this is a problem and shuts down. At the top of my screen, it says "Revolutionary and S-Off". It kept saying there was an "Unexpected Communication Error with the phone" when it was going into FastBoot mode to install the recovery and would never update. When I did that, it wouldn't install a recovery for me. I ended up downloading the application from revolutionary.io and rooting that way. ![]() That all worked fine, but when I ran the Live Disc utility, it didn't have the option to run the Revolutionary S-Off. So I got the phone downgraded and am I flashed HBoot ENG HBoot. Then I will run the revolutionary tool on it. Why do you have to flash the 1.13 RUU? I will get it downloaded and ready to go so I can get it done once I get it bricked successfully 2 times. How does it work the second time? Do I just brick it like normal the second time? I'm assuming that I don't run the Revolutionary tool after I unbrick the first time because wouldn't that put S-Off and you're not supposed to brick once you're S-Off or else it will permabrick it. The question I have is, when I brick the phone and run the unbrick utility, I have to rebrick it again since I'm on 1.58. I'm gonna try it again in a little bit once my kids go to bed. I got it to brick again, and ran the downgrade/unbrick tool again, but this time, I tried to run the Revolutionary Tool but the phone was in a bootloop that would freeze when it started the 3D animation and wouldn't let me run the tool. So I ran the RUU again to try and brick it and I missed it, when it came back up, it said it was on 1.58. I didn't run the revolutionary tool to root it yet because I needed to brick it again since I'm on HBoot 1.58. When I went back into HBoot, it said my HBoot version was with S-On. Ok, so I got the phone bricked and use the live tool kit to downgrade my phone. ![]() Please help me!!!! I have basic rooting experience (I have rooted a OG droid, Gtab, HP TouchPad, EVO 3D and some crappy motorola phone for my friend) But it seems I got ahead of my self, I'm so traumatized with this whole VM crap that I bought a Nexus 7 back in June and I haven't dared to try to root the tablet. If I try Start> CMD> adb shell I get the following: # Then I type the "adb shell dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p19 of=/sdcard/current19.img" I get the following error: HT17KHX0****(is this my serial #?) device If I type adb devices I get the following: List of devices attached Since I'm a noob I don't' know if the commands are Star>command prompt> adb> adb shell dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p19 of=/sdcard/current19.img? If I try this I get the following error: /sdcard/current19.img: cannot open for write: Read-only file system Okay, what I have done so far is try step 1. ultimate -X (where X is one of the following options)Ĭommands to use on the bootable CD tool right? By the way i'm using the bootable CD tool if that helps.Ĥ-Then run the tool using. What'chu talkin' 'bout, Willis? I have no idea what is this. I'm lost in this step, is this on windows command prompt(CMD)? or I need to do this on the phone using terminal emulator?ģ-Set permissions via "chmod 755 ultimate" (possibly 0755 depending on linux flavor) I downloaded all the files required and I put them in a folder in my pc, do I need to transfer this files to the sd to flash them in recovery or just flash them on windows using adb?Ģ-Gain a root command prompt (# instead of $) (sudo -s works for most) So since I didn't found a noob proft version of this guide I have several questions hoping I can get this fixed.ġ- Extract the files to somewhere (home folder works best) Well today was that day but it seems I got ahead of my self because after a few hours trying different thing it seems that i'm lost. I flashed the leaked ICS for the EVO 3D VM and as you know I mess up my phone, So to learn from my mistake I waited several months to try out this tool to fix all the VM issues.
